The SP Slip

The Southern Pacific (SP) Slip, off the Main Channel, is an historical waterfront site, one of few working fish harbors in Los Angeles.

  1. Everything looks so clean here. I like the line of what looks like Palm trees in the background.

  2. Your post reminds me of the bigger days of fishing in San Pedro. My aunt worked at one of the canneries across the channel from San Pedro on Terminal Island (in the 60's).

  3. By 'Southern Pacific' - as in trains? Is this where trains meet the port and load up with supplies to transport inland? Great photo!

  4. Hi LH - those are palms, I didn't really notice. Looks cool.

Ah FA- you have lots of history here. I moved to SoCal in 1981.

HI BA - not now, but in the past yes.

    Thanks for all your comments!
